Ozempic is a prescription-only injectable medication containing the active ingredient semaglutide, primarily used to treat adults with type 2 diabetes to improve blood sugar control. How does Ozempic work ?
Ozempic (semaglutide) works by mimicking a naturally occurring hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is usually released by the gut after eating. It targets three main areas of the body to regulate blood sugar and appetite
How to use Ozempic
Check the Medication
Ensure the liquid is clear and colourless. Do not use it if it's cloudy or contains particles.
Attach a New Needle
Remove the paper tab from a new needle and screw it onto the pen until it is tight.
Remove Caps
Pull off the outer needle cap (save it for later) and the inner needle cap (discard it).
Flow Check (New Pens Only)
Turn the dose selector to the flow check symbol (
). Press and hold the dose button until the counter returns to zero and a drop of medicine appears at the needle tip.
